Originally from Kansas, Mia Vassilev plays a much meaner piano than Dorothy ever did. Vassilev is a classical pianist who, in addition to performing in her hometown, has played concerts in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas. Her renditions have been broadcast on Bulgaria’s Classical Radio Network, and she has performed for productions in Italy and Austria. In Florida, Vassilev has played at the Internationals concert series in West Palm Beach and Boynton Beach. Most recently, however, she’s found a welcome haven in Miami, gracing the Bass Museum of Art Summer Concert Series, the Steinway Gallery, and now Gusman Hall at the University of Miami, where she will interpret pieces by Liszt, Beethoven, Chopin, and Lecuona.
