Festival announcements are happening all over the place.

Last week, while most local music lovers were caught up talking about Langerado’s surprising decision to host the 2009 edition of that concert at Miami’s Bicentennial Park, a lot of people missed that the on-again, off-again International Caribbean Music Fest had an announcement of their own.

After taking 2007 off completely, the ICM Fest is back and they’ve got a good looking line-up put together as well. The concert is set for Sunday, November 16 at Virginia Key Beach, Miami. Big names include Bounty Killer, Queen Ifrica (pictured above), and Mavado (apparently, he can perform in the U.S. again) and Beenie Man.

The rest of the line-up is impressive too, so check it out here.

The popular Caribbean music festival first got started in 1997 but spent 1999, 2002 and 2006 as rebuilding years. For 2008, supporting talent on the show includes Spragga Benz, Da’Ville, Munga Honorebel, Christopher Martin, plus Etana, who grew up in Ft. Lauderdale and Sean Kingston will be there as well.

I’m personally excited to see Tony Rebel on the show. His big tune, “Fresh Vegetable” is one of my favorite reggae songs of all time.
