Celebrities, coffee shops, and Miami are not a new pairing; we have Brian Butler with Bigface Coffee in the Design District, Nicky Jam with La Industria Bakery & Cafe in Downtown, and now the rapper, singer, and well-known Megan Fox baby daddy, Machine Gun Kelly (who now goes by MGK), will try his luck in Wynwood with 27 Club Coffee shop.
As reported by the South Florida Business Journal, the chain will open its first South Florida location in the Wynwood Jungle building at 51 N.W. 23rd St., in the second or third quarter of 2026, after signing a ten-year lease for the 2,778-square-foot space.
MGK, who will be performing at the Kaseya Center on December 20, is a Grammy-nominated rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio. He got his start independently recording mixtapes until he got signed to Bad Boy Records (owned by the infamous Diddy), and an imprint of Interscope Records. “Bloody Valentine” and “My Ex’s Best Friend” are some of his biggest hits, and in August of this year, he released Lost Americana, his seventh studio album, featuring the single “Outlaw Overture.”
With his active career and public love life, he probably needs a lot of coffee to keep going. That may have been the reason he launched 27 Club Coffee back in downtown Cleveland in 2020. The brand, which takes its name from the “club” in pop culture that refers to famous musicians who died at age 27—like Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix—has a visually striking pop-punk aesthetic featuring pinks and shades of black.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If Miami New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
The menu features a pink latte that will likely be a hit among Miami coffee enthusiasts, considering our city’s long-standing affair with the color. Besides enjoying a cup of joe at the shop, coffee bags are also for sale, with names referencing music, such as Voodoo Child, Unplugged, and Blonde Don.
Wynwood Jungle, formerly known as the Wynwood Arcade, was purchased by Rivani in 2021 for $13.25 million. The previously named Black Lion development group gave the building a facelift, transforming it into what it is now: a warehouse-inspired property highlighting the neighborhood’s signature murals on the façade.
Although it has a cool look, will MGK be able to score a coffee hit—and compete in quality (and price) with the local roasters in the area? We all know Miami is all about its coffee.
