Black Star's Mos Def and Talib Kweli said it best when they sang, "It's kind of dangerous to be an MC." There's just too much violence in hop-hop.

So much in fact that it might make bleeding heart Lupe Fiasco hang up his hat for good. He threatened to retire after a twitter bout with fellow Chigoan Chief Keef over an "#LMFAO" and a dead rapper's body.

Another rapper dead, that's that shit Lupe don't like.

The beef between Fiasco and Keef started last week, when Lupe criticized the Keefer's gang-bangin' style in a radio interview.

"Chief Keef scares me," Lupe said. "Not him specifically, but just the culture that he represents," which is that of less than 20-year-old gangsters poppin' off at the mouth and the hip every chance they get.

A few days later, Keef responded by shouting down Lupe for being a "hoe ass nigga" and "bitch," spurring a nasty back-and-forth that seems to have left Lupe feeling a bit empty inside.

Now, Keef isn't a one beef burger kind of guy. He goes for the double and triple patties. So simultaneously, he's been going after this 18-year-old Chicago rapper named JoJo.

The boys had been exchanging diss tracks. And most recently, JoJo released video on YouTube confronting Chief Keef sidekick Lil Reece from a car window, threatening at him "Ima kill you."

But that's not the way it turned out. On Tuesday, JoJo was found shot to death.

Of course, Keef took to Twitter:

So where does that leave a soft-hearted, well-spoken rapper like Lupe? On the fringes and out of hope, apparently.

"my father i have spoken the truth to them yet it has only made my life in this world more troubled. i can bear this no longer," he tweeted. "i have spoken peace only 2 receive vitriol and malice in return. My brother seeks destruction my sister seeks attention paths to nothingness. i'd die for them...but they'd probably spit on my grave...i still will die for them...just bury me in a place far from their reach...Amin.

"This album will probably be my last," he continued. "its been a pleasure to have all my fans provide so much love an inspiration for me and my family but my heart is broken and i see no comfort further along this path only more pain. I cannot participate any longer in this..."
