Laura Pausini possesses arguably one of the most powerful female voices in Latin pop. The Italian-born songstress, who has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide, boasts a blessed set of pipes. Evidence? Her vocal work on hit singles such as “Inolvidable,” off 1996’s Las Cosas Que Vives; her duet with James Blunt on “Primavera Anticipada,” from her most recent album of the same name; the title track to her Latin Grammy-winning 2006 release, Yo Canto; and, of course, the haunting “Viveme,” off 2004’s Escucha. Add to those exhibits her multiple armloads of awards, including nods from Grammy, Latin Grammy, Billboard, ASCAP, and Lo Nuestro. It’s no wonder the sexy Italian has earned a place alongside fellow renowned exports Eros Ramazzotti and Andrea Bocelli.
And if you’re one of her millions of fans worldwide, Pausini will soon give you a rare chance to catch her live stateside. One of only four scheduled U.S. stops on her Primavera Anticipada tour, which just kicked off, includes Hard Rock Live this Wednesday.

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $18,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
