Lady Gaga and Obama! Five Presidential Meetings With Musicians

Lady Gaga wants to meet with President Obama.

Following the news that 14-year old Jamey Rodemeyer committed suicide after years of bullying, Gaga tweeted, "The past days I've spent reflecting, crying, and yelling. I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someones [sic] life."

Determined to stop this from happening to others, Gaga later tweeted, "I am meeting with our President. I will not stop fighting. This must end. Our generation has the power to end it."

The White House has not confirmed a sit-down between Gaga and the President, but don't be surprised if it happens. The White House has a long history of star-fucking. Check out our list of musicians that have visited 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue over the years.

5. Elvis Presley and Richard Nixon

In a handwritten letter addressed to then-President Richard Nixon, Elvis Presley voiced his desire to help the country by becoming a "Federal Agent at Large." Then on December 21, 1970, Presley met with President Nixon to talk about the dangers of drugs and hippies, and how the Beatles reinforced anti-American sentiment. The King died seven years later from a heart attack that many say was caused by drugs.

4. Tony Bennett and Dubya

Alright, it wasn't at that White House. But Tony Bennett did meet President George W. Bush at the Kennedy Center Honors and they had a very important conversation that night. Evidently, as the crooner recently told Howard Stern, Bush opened up about the Iraq War and told Bennett that he'd made a mistake. Or maybe Bennet's a liar and made the whole thing up.

3. Jay-Z & Beyonce and Obama

Jay-Z already had Obama on speed dial. So it was only a matter of time before a meeting with the President at the White House would follow. In March 2010, Jigga Man and Beyonce stopped by the Obama's D.C. residence for a quick chill session while touring the East Coast.

2. Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony and Obama

Ex-couple J-Lo and Marc Anthony are pretty big football fans. In fact, they're part owners of the Miami Dolphins. But since their team didn't make it to the Super Bowl last season, President Obama figured it'd be nice to have them over for his Super Bowl watch party.

1. Michael Jackson and Ronald Reagan

Well before Don't Ask Don't Tell was repealed, Michael Jackson showed up at Ronald Reagan's White House dressed like a gay sailor. In retrospect, that sparkly jacket with the gold epaulettes and sash might've been a little loud for an anti-drunk driving press conference.
