Here are Kenny Garrett’s credentials: At the gentle age of 18, he was part of Duke Ellington’s orchestra (then led by son Mercer Ellington). At age 21, he was gigging with Mel Lewis’s orchestra, and by age 24, he had produced his first solo recorded effort.

A talented and accomplished saxophonist and flutist, Garrett has only continued to grow and evolve since those tender days. He has shared the stage with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Pharoah Sanders, and many others. With more than a dozen albums and thousands of performances under his belt, Garrett imbues his postbop jazz with elements of classical, gospel, and soul, as well as world-music nuances picked up on his travels. A true student of the jazz genre, an excellent performer, a classy man all around, Garrett will no doubt put on an incredible show.
