Support the independent voice of Miami and help keep the future of New Times free.

She's acted in Christmas Vacation, Cape Fear, and Natural Born Killers. She started Juliette and the Licks, which disbanded this year, and now she's back on the music scene with Juliette Lewis & The New Romantics. Unlike many actors-turned musicians, Juliette Lewis holds her own onstage, bringing growling vocal energy to the down-and-dirty rock styling of her backing band. She's beginning this tour with the Pretenders and Cat Power, but they don't seem to be on the ticket for this show, making it only slightly less awesome. Lewis's next album, Terra Incognita, is scheduled to hit September 1. Tickets for her Culture Room show go on sale this Friday for $14.99 through Ticketmaster. Hit the jump to see Juliette in action.

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
