We don’t know what in hell Sweden is putting in its drinking water. But the quiet Scandinavian country appears to be spawning a superior race of DJ megastars intent on world domination! The Swedish House Mafia dudes have already positioned themselves as the prime EDM ambassadors to this decade’s mainstream masses. And then there’s wunderkind John Dahlbäck, who’s been dropping bombs on international dance floors since the age of 15.
Besides being an accomplished producer and globetrotting DJ, Dahlbäck, now 26 years old, is also a formidable A&R magnate, serving as head honcho of the esteemed Pickadoll and Mutants labels. But it’s as the star acquisition of Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records that the talented young Swede is making the biggest waves at the crack of this new year. His current compilation, Toolroom Knights, demonstrates total command of hard-hitting and anthemic big-room beats across 38 tracks and two mixes.
Pick up a copy and then go catch the prodigy himself at Amnesia Miami Beach this Saturday.
