III Points Music Festival is back this weekend at Mana Wynwood. With over 150 artists performing on Friday and Saturday, and expecting close to 50,000 people over the two nights, a multitude of logistical planning must take place. Nothing might annoy people driving around Wynwood more than the fact that there will be several street closures. As it gets closer and closer to the festival, more and more streets will be taken out of commission, which might force a lot of drivers to make III points turns.
Those going to the festival will, of course, expect this. But if you’re headed to Wynwood for another reason, these detours might come as a shock. To help people plan how to get around Wynwood the next week the Miami Police Department announced all the streets that will be closed to traffic over the next week.
Starting Monday, October 13, through 8 p.m. on Monday, October 20, these streets will be closed:
NW 24th Street between NW 5th and 6th Avenues
NW 23rd Street between NW 5th and 6th Avenues
NW 22nd Street between NW 5th and 6th Avenues
NW 22nd Lane between NW 2nd and 3rd Avenues
From Tuesday, October 14, through 5 a.m. on Monday, October 20, these streets will be closed:
NW 5th Avenue between NW 22nd and 23rd Streets
NW 5th Avenue southbound between NW 23rd and 24th Streets
From Thursday, October 16, at 5 p.m. through 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 19, these streets will be closed:
NW 23rd St. westbound between NW 2nd and NW 5th Avenues
NW 23rd St. westbound between NW 2nd Avenue and NW 5th Place
Finally, from Friday, October 17 at 9 a.m. through 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, these streets will be closed:
NW 6th Avenue between NW 21st Terrace and 26th Street
NW 21st Terrace westbound between NW 5th and 6th Avenues
Miami police officers will be on-site to assist and inform pedestrians and drivers which streets are closed. They also add that nearby parking will be limited and advise using a rideshare to get to III Points. But if you’re the adventurous type and don’t want to stress out an Uber or Lyft driver with surprise street closures, you can also take your shot with public transportation as well.
