You’ve got to love a band that inspires a wide range of reactions from fans. The Heroine Sheiks have seen it all, from flying tables and chairs to a couple getting it on by the side of the stage. Fronted by Shannon Selberg (ex-member of Nineties noise rockers The Cows), the Heroine Sheiks’s sludgy dirge provides a backdrop to her lyrics about people that everyone can really relate to, like little schoolgirls and evil bosses. The band makes a pit stop in South Florida this Sunday as part of its national tour.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
