Pitbull is undeniably one of pop music's favorite male artists. And no, not just in our Cuban-American eyes, but in the eyes of the 2011 American Music Awards. Dude's been nominated for the Favorite Male Artist prize.

Even though he's already won in our book, actually walking away with the trophy may prove to be a challenge.

Pit's up against tween favorites Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars, two bros with mad internet clout and legions of underage fans that'll do anything to see their artist win.

We say fuck that noise, Miami! We need to band together and make sure our boy Pitbull brings that AMA hardware home to the 305. The plan's simple: Vote for Pitbull at the official American Music Awards website. Not once, twice, or three times, but somewhere in the vicinity of 12 to 23 times per day.

The beauty of this Dick Clark-produced awards show is that the winners are chosen by the fans. As long as we keep voting, Pitbull's chances of winning will increase exponentially.

And don't think it's just Magic City pride fueling this effort, we're looking out for society. After all, a victory for Pit is a victory for humanity. Things are going incredibly wrong in a world where Justin Bieber or Bruno Mars can beat Pitbull at anything.

Rock the AMA vote, yo.

The American Music Awards air live on ABC at 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 20.

Pitbull with Enrique Iglesias and Prince Royce. Saturday, October 22. American Airlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets cost $16.50 to $126.50 plus fees via ticketmaster.com. Call 305-960-8500 or visit aaarena.com.
