Miami isn't just some metaphorical cheap beach motel where the electronic dance music industry from overseas gathers to mingle and party during WMC. No, it's also the place where some of the world's top EDM brands are actually born.
"It was a perfectly beautiful accident. It came together as a last minute idea over a leisurely chat with the Audiofly boys," Diego Martinelli of SAFE tells Crossfade.

"No one was doing anything catering to our sound on the Wednesday of WMC week, so we thought of organizing a simple daytime party to which we could invite our DJ friends and make a fun afternoon out of it. It was a smash success and we decided immediately to make it a yearly tradition. We never imagined it would soon after turn into such a globally-demanded thing."
Indeed, since that first WMC session in March 2008, Flying Circus has emerged as one the most popular party brands on the international underground house and techno scene, hosting marathon lineups with their extended family of world-renowned DJs from Peru to Ibiza. But with the concentration of international partygoers in Miami each March, Flying Circus remains first and foremost a staple of the WMC. And this March they will be celebrating their fifth year in Miami at a new venue, Villa 221 in downtown Miami.
"This year's Flying Circus marks a milestone for us, not just because we have been doing it for five years and it's become synonymous with the opening of WMC, but also because the brand has become a truly global force to be reckoned with," Audiofly's Luca Saporito tells Crossfade. "We are more than excited to host the party at a new venue, Villa 221, and to have with us some of the most exciting talent on earth. It will certainly be one to remember."
Flying Circus Miami Five-Year Celebration. Wednesday, March 21. Villa 221, 221 NE 17th St., Miami. The party starts at 11 a.m. and tickets cost $20 via wantickets.com.
