Most Jay Dee enthusiasts know that over the weekend, there were some worldwide celebrations for the birthday (Feb 7) and passing (Feb 10) of the late great producer J Dilla.
Here’s some footage from the Donuts are Forever party in Brooklyn with appearance from Illwill, Phonte, House Shoes, Von Pea, and others. This video could have used some more lighting from time to time, but all in all, there’s good footage of folks wildin’ out and a slew of raucous Dilla beats to put a smile on ya face.
And here’s a link to a new Dilla podcast from J. Rocc and the Stones Throw fam. It’s solid (ridiculous actually) and is the third in a series of musical tributes to Detroit’s finest.
