DJ Sire Esq.'s Fuggetaboutit Vol. 2 definitely lives up to the proclamation on its CD cover: "Over 70 minutes of real deal hip-hop and more." The local DJ was definitely in DITC (diggin' in the crates) mode when preparing for this mixtape. Fusing some of hip-hop's most subterranean and mainstream artists, along with old-skool soul and funk, with memorable sampled lines from Donnie Brasco, Beverly Hills Cop 2, and Chappelle's Show, this compilation shows that the good times never end. While tracks from Mobb Deep featuring 50 Cent ("The Infamous"), Busta Rhymes ("The Heist"), Ghostface featuring Raekwon ("RAGU"), T.I. ("Tip Why You Wanna Remix"), and J. Dilla ("High") are always favorable cuts, a few surprises pop up as well. A remix of Lupe Fiasco's summer smash single "Kick Push" features Billionaire Boys Club founder Skateboard P. (Pharrell) hard-flipping an extra verse. Sire Esq. shows local love with appearances from Miami's own Wrekonize ("Who's the Man/How Come") and Mayday! ("Angles"), laying a little hip-hop flavor 305 style. Although the tape runs along a plateaued line of mixes, the show-stopping "Kool Outro" contains a teaser of Sly and the Family Stone's "If You Want Me to Stay."
