The Counting Crows kick off their summer tour at the end of July in Virginia Beach. It doesn't roll down to South Florida until October 4 at the Cruzan Ampitheatre in West Palm Beach, but it'll still be hot as hell then so we'll still count it as summer. As all smart bands are doing these days, they're also inviting fans to participate -- this time, by designing their tour poster.

Just three rules here:

1) The poster must be 18"x24" portrait or landscape.

2) Your artwork must be at least 300 DPI and be transmitted through the internet (Files must be jpeg or gif and must be less than 10MB in size)

3) Any graphic elements you use cannot be copyrighted.

That's it. The poster will be used to promote the tour, and sold at all its stops (no info right now on further compensation.) Send your entry to [email protected], along with your name and e-mail address (um, perhaps you should copy it over into the body of the message just to be safe.)

Deadline for submissions is July 1 -- so get moving. In case you're curious, the band's full tour dates are listed after the jump.

Also, check out these free MP3s from the band's latest album, Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings. -- Arielle Castillo
