Deadmau5 rants again.

Two years ago, he denounced Ultra Music Festival over its ticket prices and exclusivity contracts. And last year, he slandered UMF as "the same fucking thing every year." But then he coheadlined Ultra 2013.

He's also bitched about "EDM" just being an acronym for "Event-Driven Marketing," not to mention a million other things pertaining to the genre and culture he helped megapopularize.

And now the King Rat returns with a personal boycott of Miami clubs.

On New Year's Day, the Mau5 man was scheduled to bring his Unhooked tour to Mansion Miami. For a second year.

So yeah, he probably should've been prepared for the South Beach scene and all its expensive, narcissistic tendencies. But no, he made it known that he was bored by the SoBe bullshit from the get-go.

And then the King Rat proceeded to use his cell phone (posting an Instagram pic and a tweet) to complain about the number of people using cell phones in the VIP area.

After the show, though, there was a Deadmau5 Live chat with fans. And that's when his rodent-like fury really exploded into a full-blown frenzy.

"I fucking reamed out my agent for making me deal with that," the Mau5 man assured his followers.

"Putting fans in the back," he added, "and trust fund kids up front is fucking stupid as fuck."

Thus, his pledge: "I won't be playing any more Miami clubs."

(Side note: The King Rat also hated his NYE gig in NYC. So guess it's nothing totally personal, SoBe.)

Now, we here at Crossfade can certainly respect and relate to the impulse to criticize a scene as frequently overhyped and often overpriced as EDM.

But here's the problem... Deadmau5 bitches about things, like Ultra. Only to headline the next year.

So while he said, "I'd rather rent a venue / parking lot / beachfront and fuckin' do it right" during his Live chat, we'll stop rolling our eyes when the Mau5 man finally quits booking trimonthly megaclub sets in Miami and starts playing free shows in empty Hialeah warehouses.

Basically, it's time for the King Rat to actually do something about these "asshole promoter[s]... taking advantage of my brand/show to sell the fuck out of a show."

Or he should just shut up.
