Help us weather the uncertain future

We know — the economic times are hard. We believe that our work of reporting on the critical stories unfolding right now is more important than ever.

We need to raise $6,000 to meet our goal by August 10. If you’re able to make a contribution of any amount, your dollars will make an immediate difference in helping ensure the future of local journalism in Miami. Thanks for reading Miami New Times.

You've just been invited to a beat-freaking Dayglow party.

It seems Miami's Committee Entertainment is getting superserious, doing absolutely everything (including buying a huge I-95 billboard) to make sure the next local installment of its annual Dayglow Tour will be bigger and badder than ever. The Committee has even moved the paint-spraying rave to the Miami Beach Convention Center and hired Swedish progressive-house stunner Alesso to set the soundtrack.

What began as a college campus phenomenon in 2006 has now become a worldwide affair. Since Dayglow's last local bash at the BankUnited Center in 2011, the Committee has toured the world, from London to Melbourne, appealing to humankind's most undeniable, primitive impulse. And really, who doesn't love dancing half-naked and covered in glowing paint all night? So break out your throw-away white shorts and tanks; then get there early enough to catch sets from Turkish house DJ Deniz Koyu and Dayglow regular David Solano.

Oh, and don't be afraid to take a little paint to the face.
