Daft Punk's Tron: Legacy Listening Party at the Florida Room This Friday

Yeah, we like rad retro 3-D movies. But we totally love French robots engineered explicitly for the purpose of producing outsized symphonic sountracks, i.e. Daft Punk duo Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter.

For months, we've been hearing about all those amazing Tron: Legacy promo parties taking place around the world -- mini-screenings in the UK, the Flynn Lives seance in San Fran, and even unofficial stunts like Daft Punk's impromptu cameo at Phoenix's NYC show back in October.

Now finally, Miami's getting an up-close-and-fucking-personal preview of Daft Punk's Tron score (thanks to Svedka Vodka and Giant Step) at the Florida Room. See the cut for RSVP details, a music video, and the full tracklist.

Recorded at London's AIR Lyndhurst Studios with an entire "symphony of one hundred world-class musicians," the Tron: Legacy soundtrack (street date December 7) features flourishes of Homem-Christo and Bangalter's usual skittering synths and strange electro signals. But anyone expecting Homework, Part II has got the wrong idea. This 22-track collection edges more toward cinematic, borderline ambient experiments. You know, the Disney Empire released "Derezzed" early for a reason: It's the banger in the bunch.

Really, though, why are we wasting time talking about it? Go RSVP for this Friday's listening party and hear that shit yourself.
