Renowned for the tango hits he made over the course of his roughly twenty-year career, the late Adolfo Tudisco (stage name: Horacio Deval) would appreciate the tango-tinged event being held in his honor. “This is an homage to him, a tribute to who he was as a person and as a singer,” says event coordinator Grissell Tudisco, Adolfo’s daughter. Con Amor al Tango, hosted by Jorge Mora of the Argentine consulate, will feature a performance by the folk band Los Latigos Santiagueños as well as tango dances performed by Jorge Nel and his company. Guest singers will include Martin DeLeon, Horacio Ravera, and Stella Milano, who will all be accompanied by classically trained musicians. “It’s for everyone to experience something new and to open their awareness to who this person was and what he did for the culture of tango,” says Grissell.
