Club Space's inaugural block party in the heart of downtown Miami will close out Miami Art Week on Sunday, December 8. The party will run from 4 to 11 p.m. and feature the usual club fixtures: proper production, VIP options, and various unannounced artists. Guests can rave on the courthouse steps.

"The most exciting thing is the city being open to doing electronic music on the street. We're doing it safely, and right outside the courthouse will be a beautiful backdrop," says Club Space's cofounder Coloma Kaboomsky tells New Times.

The block party will also feature the return of British DJ/producer Michael Bibi, who will make his first appearance in the city in two years. Bibi regularly played in and around Miami, making appearances at Club Space and the Ultra Music Festival.

In 2023, the Solid Grooves Records founder announced that he had a rare form of brain cancer, central nervous system lymphoma. He stepped away from touring to receive treatment and eventually went into complete remission six months later. He posted on Instagram earlier this week that he was "all clear" following a post-treatment scan.

"It feels like everything came together in a beautiful way," says Komboosky.

The Space team wanted Bibi's return to be more than a packed terrace set, so they began working with the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to have a party right outside the near-century-old Dade County Courthouse at 73 W. Flagler St.

"We've been wanting to do something different with him that won't go too late into the night, and we have such a deep connection with Micheal and his management," David Sinopoli, Club Space's co-owner, shares. "We are really, really happy to have Micheal back."

The Dade County Courthouse was put up for sale earlier this year due to myriad safety concerns. The neoclassical courthouse will eventually close once the new courthouse next door opens.

Sinopoli explains that the Club Space owners went to an event held by the DDA a couple of years ago that used the same footprint as the upcoming block party. The event convinced the owners that a proper party could be held downtown on a quiet Sunday. Sinopoli hints that there will be stages right outside the courthouse and along the streets where different artists will be playing.

Kaboomsky adds that Paramida and locals Miguelle & Tons will also be on the bill.
