Club Space and Model Volleyball Will Bring the Heat to South Beach This Weekend

While the volleyball games in Lummus Park off Ocean Drive often draw onlookers for the incredible athleticism of toned, scantily clad players, volleyball oglers have a whole new reason to head to South Beach this weekend. On Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. the sands of South Beach off of 9th Street will host the 16th annual edition of Model Volleyball. That’s right, for two glorious days, you can bear witness to the world’s most photogenic people spiking balls in each other’s faces all to the soundtrack of EDM curated by Club Space.

“The event brings together Miami’s leading modeling agencies for a two-day co-ed tournament,” their press release reads. It continues to state that the teams will be comprised through “participation from 10 of Miami’s top model agencies and more than 250 competing models, and music from 20 world-renowned DJs at an active dancefloor all day”.

Some of the DJ’s that will be performing include Camelphat, Arodes, Aabel B2B Tiffy Vera, Monoky B2B Nii Tei, Daizy, Deleasa, and Pietro on Saturday. Sunday will feature sets by Prospa, Omri, Layla Benitez B2B Ms. Mada, Max Stern B2B Miluhska, Raje B2B Rello, Nicole Gallamini, and Brooke Brazelton B2B Crespo. A total of 20 DJs will perform over the weekend.

The press release promises a tight schedule of intense competition and beats. “Each day begins at noon with doors opening and volleyball matches underway, as DJ sets activate the beach throughout the afternoon.  At 6 p.m., the volleyball courts clear and the dancefloor expands across the sand, carrying the energy into the evening until 11 p.m.”

For those attending because of a love of sport, the rules of Model Volleyball per the website modelvolleyball.com are as follows: “The battle consists of a bracket-style competition where teams compete against each other in a round-robin format where day two is a single-elimination tournament. Teams compete for bragging rights & luxurious prizes each tournament.” 

Tickets for the event are available at dice.fm and range from $20 for a general admission one-day ticket that requires entry before 1 pm to $250 for a VIP two-day pass.
