Few labels have had a greater impact on dance music in the new millennium than DFA Records, the beloved imprint of LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy.

With acts like the Rapture, Hot Chip, Shit Robot, and Holy Ghost! on its all-star roster, DFA's injected the international scene with a reinvigorating shot of downtown NYC disco-punk attitude, giving the new generation of hispters a reason to dance.

Another pivotal and long-standing DFA artist is DJ, producer, and eponymous bandleader Juan MacLean, whose 12-inch vinyl single "By The Time I Get To Venus" kickstarted the label's output in 2001.

As a former guitarist with post-hardcore band Six Finger Satellite, MacLean brings that distinctly punk flair to his dancefloor numbers, which are also widely informed by old-school Chicago house and electro.

Last year, MacLean contributed a critically-acclaimed installment to the prestigious DJ Kicks mix series on !K7 Records, which DJ Magazine called "the best compilation of 2010." So you know the man's DJ sets are not to be missed. Catch him manning the decks at the Electric Pickle this Saturday, along with a live performance by local Latin funk favorites Suenalo.

Juan MacLean with Suenalo. Saturday, June 18. Electric Pickle, 2826 N. Miami

Ave., Miami. The party starts at 10 p.m. Call 305-456-5613 or visit electricpicklemiami.com.
