With ten Latin Grammys and even a pair of standard gold-plated gramophophone statuettes stashed in the safe, it’s been a solid minute since Calle 13‘s Residente and Visitante could be legitimately called underground guerilla rappers.
They’re signed to Sony Music Latin. They’re on the cover of Rolling Stone Argentina. They’re basically fucking world-famous. And yet these Puerto Rican hip-hop heads — especially manic mike-mangler Resi — haven’t lost their taste for sonic warfare and outright social rebellion.
Want proof? Just pick up the latest manifesto, Entren los Que Quieran. Or better, hit the streets and join the Trece army. It’s open to everyone.
See the cut for Calle 13’s U.S. tour schedule.
