Brat Summer is making a comeback at Gramps Wynwood for Club XCX night on Saturday, September 6. Event-goers can expect hits from iconic pop stars like Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, Slayyyter, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Ariana Grande, among others.
Club XCX started as a series of dance parties inspired by British singer's music and persona, celebrating her influence on pop and queer culture. Even though the iconic Brat album dropped last year, it continues to live on, inspiring fans and fueling parties like this one with its unapologetic, boundary-pushing spirit.
Gramps Wynwood welcomes DJ Miss Purple Shampoo to take over the night and turn it into the ultimate dance party for the girls, gays, and theys. Known for spinning a high-energy mix of disco, house, hyperpop, and early 2000s pop, Miss Purple Shampoo has become a staple in Miami's queer nightlife scene.
They're the creator of Discotecamia, a recurring series of "queer groovy events" that celebrate disco culture and community through nostalgic, dance-heavy sets. You might recognize Miss Purple Shampoo from sets at the Big Wig Festival at the recently closed Willy’s Neighborhood Bar, roller disco nights at Miami Roller Rink, or this year's Club Shy event at Floyd Miami.
The Club XCX dance parties are organized and presented by What the Dance, an event production company based in San Francisco, CA. The goal of the dance party event series is to establish a community that connects fans with their favorite artists and various genres.
The parties have expanded all across North America, reaching major U.S. cities like Dallas, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Orlando, and, of course, Miami, as well as Canadian cities like Toronto, Montreal, and Victoria.
Other upcoming dance parties in the U.S. include Indie Sleaze Night, Darkwave Party, and more niche events, such as While We’re Young - One Direction Night. Ultimately, there is something for everyone to enjoy. You can browse their upcoming events in Miami and other cities here.
