Looks like another city is about to cancel Live Earth--the climate control awareness concert scheduled for this Saturday. The concerts are supposed to take place in various cities around the world and are stacked with all-star artists like Madonna, Jorge Ben Jor, Lenny Kravitz and lots more. But some cities have had to cancel due to a lack of ticket sales and now Rio De Janeiro may be added to the list of host cities that can't handle Live Earth.
But at least they've got a good reason!
According to Reuters, officials are blaming violence in the favelas as the cause for the possible cancellation. Apparently, the cops are focusing all of their efforts toward trying to control turf wars in the favelas (slums) and don't have enough law enforcement officials to patrol the concert.
