Perhaps the worst-kept secret in Miami's nightlife scene was what was happening to the space formerly occupied by Bar and PS14.

Shortly after the decision had been made, local nightlife sources told us that Barfly, a new venue by The Vagabond's Carmel Ophir, would be opening at 28 NE 14th Street.

We've kept quiet about it since October, because there hasn't been much to report. And there still isn't. Except that teasers on both Facebook and Twitter have popped up.

When we contacted Ophir for any comment on the opening, he emailed us back, saying: "No announcements planned as of yet... Just reading a lot of Bukowski."

OK, we get it ... Carmel is still playing coy. But the rumor mill is already buzzing about what Barfly will bring to Miami's nightlife scene.

If you are wondering what's taking so long, the opening was probably (and wisely) delayed due to all the construction on 14th Street, which has seen sidewalks and roads torn up. The chaos has definitely hurt the nightlife activity in the area over the past few months, but we expect it to pick back up once Barfly opens.

Well, Barfly and other rumored projects happening on 14th Street. But we're getting ahead of ourselves ...
