I mentioned here previously that out of the six artists chosen as finalists for the Florida Grammy Showcase in Orlando last Wednesday, five were from Miami. They were, to recap, Selena Serrano, Spinlight City, Tristan Clopet & the Juice, and finally local favorites Awesome New Republic and ArtOfficial. I said in that post that the latter are bordering on national recognition, and the outcome of the showcase confirmed that — ArtOfficial were declared the winners, band-battle style.
According to the Grammy folks, the band received a “a $25,000 artist development package from the Recording Academy that features the latest software, music equipment, consultations, studio time and other valuable services.” Congrats!
