Not sure how I missed the fact that Amanda Green finally finished her long-awaited album that was supposed to be finished two or three years ago. After a some stutter-steps and some botched studio experiences in Atlanta, TAPE/PARTY is finally done with a dose of production and shepherding from one Miami’s best producers, Rat Bastard.
Green’s work is awesome with top-notch songwriting, amazing hooks, and great production. Her work doesn’t often follow traditional song and chord structures, but somehow manages to still catch the ear without sounding overly experimental. One of my favorite tracks is “Bye Bye John.” Green is the real deal and another Miami musician who should be more well known than she is. Older schoolers will recognize the name and new jacks will be pleasantly surprised.
