Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
A jingling keyboard, courtesy of Eddie Kendricks’s “Intimate Friends,” is a fine thing on which to base a song; TV-as-lovespeak wordplay (“Stay tuned!” “Technical difficulties!”) is not. A creepily gleeful Alicia Keys does both on the pretentious “Unbreakable,” unconvincingly casting herself as a nonceleb who mulls over modeling her relationship after unstable star couples like Joseph and Katherine Jackson and Ike and Tina Turner. Why not Bobby and Whitney too?
