Two big names in the contemporary underground techno scene converge on Parkwest Nightclub in downtown Miami this Friday: Brooklyn-based DJ/producers Camea and Alexi Delano. Camea Hoffman is a classically trained musician boasting a darkly sexy and funked-up brand of minimal techno whose releases have been spun by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Magda, and Loco Dice. She runs Clink Recordings, one of the most highly esteemed American techno imprints going, with an artist roster that boasts names such as Tony Rohr, Alexi Delano, Elon, Adultnapper, and Ambivalent.

Alexi Delano, meanwhile, was born in Chile but spent his formative years in Sweden, where he was part of the first wave of notable Swedish dance music artists in the mid-’90s. He has since gained listeners and steady international accolades for his distinctive releases on labels such as Poker Flat and Plus 8. His 2009 performances at the Electric Pickle and Space made quite a few new converts, so he will no doubt draw a lot of fans to Parkwest. He and Camea’s joint appearance there comes on the last leg of their collaborative He Said, She Said Tour, and with added sets by DJs Dsan Powell, Mario Liberti, and Tuki Romero, this party is poised to be one hell of an all-night techno marathon.
