305 Live: Local Hip-Hop News from Mayday, Jovi Rockwell, DJ Entice and more

Mayday has been working on its new album, Stuck On An Island, for quite a while now. It was slated for an early May release, but has since been rescheduled to September 7. And since the series finale of popular ABC series Lost has been talked about heavily as of late, Mayday thought it'd be a good idea to release the album's title track.

Called, well, "Stuck On An Island," the song is about Miami, says band member Plex Luthor. If you pay attention to the words, you'll see why. The group also put together a video montage of Lost's first season using the song as the soundtrack for the video as well. [Mayday Online]

Puff Daddy aka P. Diddy aka Diddy aka Ciroc Obama is meddling in the affairs of Miami hip-hop again. Diddy recorded a vlog with Rick Ross and Khaled

to let the world know about their "Supreme Team" union. They're seen on

video trading affection and trading props - as well as promoting

Diddy's June 29 album date and Ross' July 6 album date. [OnSmash]

Jovi Rockwell has landed herself on the hook of Flo-Rida's new

song "Fresh I Stay Part II," which also features Lil Wayne. A previous

version of the song had Santigold on the hook, but now, Miami-based

Rockwell lends her trademark voice and flow to anchor the song for

Flo's new album, The Only One. [Y2Kdaily]

99 Jamz DJ and personality DJ Entice is chasing a good cause

and using his birthday as a platform to reach it. DJ Entice has teamed

up with Charity: Water to raise $5,000 to provide water for 250 people

in Africa. Entice says he doesn't want presents or gifts this

year, he would just love if you can donate. No matter how little the

amount, it'll make a difference. Click this link to for more information. [Charity Water]

We mentioned earlier this week that Trina was nominated for the "Best

Female Hip-Hop Artist" category at the BET Awards this year. But we

definitely also have to send recognition to Miami native Gil Green,

who was nominated for Video Director Of The Year. Gil has stayed

busy in the past year and has directed videos for tons of artists and

even celebrated his 100th music video mark last spring. We wish Gil much luck and

hopefully he walks away with the award and brings it back to Miami. [The305]
