This Kendall sushi joint always draws a crowd, no doubt because of its magnificent food, enchanting service, and homey atmosphere. Unagi, California rolls, shrimp, salmon, and tuna are all beautifully prepared. Teriyaki, katsu, stir fry, sukiyaki, and tempura dinners all are also excellent. And you have a choice between traditional American seating downstairs or Japanese-style on the floor at intimate tables upstairs, where you can also sit at the sushi bar. End your meal with homemade azuki bean ice cream or key lime pie, which demolish preconceived notions of Japanese desserts. Shibui is definitely doing something very, very right.
