Pega Grill

Ever crave a traditional Greek meal midday in downtown Miami? Well, Pega Grill, now open on Flagler Street, can satisfy your every Mediterranean desire. It's a perfect place for a work lunch, too, because there's WiFi to accompany the delicious dishes. Outside, seats are shaded by large umbrellas, and the inside is clean and cozy. Daily specials include both hearty dishes like beef stew and mashed potatoes ($8.95) and lighter fare like vegetarian pasta ($7.95). And the place uses local, fresh ingredients, and imports, when necessary. Extra virgin olive oil and feta come to your plate straight from Greece. And gyros are homemade - you can sample them with either chicken ($6.50), beef, or lamb (7.95), all served with a special sauce made of dill, paprika, curry, mayonnaise, and mustard. Salads include a healthy beet salad ($6.50) and vlita, or wild amaranth, steamed with olive oil and lemon juice ($6.50). Kebab platters are served with French fries or lemon potatoes ($9.95 to $15.95). Desserts include not only the usual baklava ($4.50), but a baked apple with yogurt and honey ($4.95) and homemade almond cake ($4.95).
