Tropical Acres Steakhouse

In 1949, a restaurateur named Gene Harvey plopped down a steakhouse in Dania Beach. Back then, the area was little more than farmland. Since then, Tropical Acres has survived two fires and continues to serve steaks, seafood, and sides. Not much has changed — even with renovations, the restaurant has retained its down-home charm, along with its menu. You won’t find celery espuma here — only stick-to-your-ribs steaks, Maine lobsters, and a selection of Italian parms and scampis. Go early for the daily prime rib, slow-roasted for melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness. Prepared in small batches, it tends to sell out nightly. Tropical Acres also offers the same steaks to-go from its on-premises butcher shop, if you’re of a mind to fire up some beef at home.
