Wynwood is smoking hot these days, with designers, construction crews, and artists scrambling to finish off on projects in time for Art Basel madness. Luckily for us, a lot of the projects involve new restaurants.
Wynwood Diner, located in the Wynwood Block building at 2601 NW Second Ave., right across the street from Wood Tavern, is scheduled for a soft opening date of early December, making it the perfect spot for hungry gallerinas and artists to grab a well-priced nosh and a few drinks.

Not much is known about the menu, but the word is that Wood Tavern’s Cesar Morales has a hand in it. Morales recently closed his two midtown projects, Benchwarmers and Bizerq, but placing a diner directly across the street from his much loved and incredibly successful drinking establishment sounds like a savvy business move.
According to a source, Wynwood Diner will seat around 200 people. The front part will be a modern, streamlined take on a classic diner. The back half of the venue will house a cafe with a full bar. Former Ritz-Carlton chef Oscar Vides has been tapped as chef.
