VooDoo BBQ & Grill is bringing a bit of the Big Easy to Kendall. The fast-casual restaurant with a Cajun vibe, is expanding its South Florida presence with its first Miami-area restaurant at the Palms at Town & Country. A Pembroke Pines restaurant opened this past January.
VooDoo opens Sunday, May 26, at 11 a.m., and to celebrate, it’s giving away free barbecue for a year to the first 99 customers. Each winner will receive 52 vouchers, each good for a free meal of their choice (up to $10). That’s more than enough to enjoy a full meal, since the restaurant’s prices are reasonable.
If you can’t make it early enough to be one of the lucky 99, don’t worry, because the restaurant is partying all day with free food samples, merchandise giveaways, and raffles for for additional “free food for a year” prizes.
VooDoo features meats that are hand-rubbed with authentic Cajun spices before going into the on-premise smokers. The finished products are available in sandwiches, po’ boys, and platters. A brisket sandwich ($6.99) features meat that’s been smoked low and slow for 14 hours. Other offerings include barbecue Gulf shrimp ($9.99), fried jumbo shrimp ($8.99), and pulled pork po’ boys ($5.99).

The 2,500-square-foot space features indoor and outdoor seating for 85 people and the restaurant will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. The New Orleans-based chain opened its first location in 2002 on Mardi Gras day and has franchises in five states with 56 locations.
