Keep Miami New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $7,500 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
We all have a hand-knitted Christmas sweater from grandma, but you probably wouldn’t be caught dead wearing it in public.
But that’ll change tonight. This evening, you can turn that Christmas sweater into a party favor at the Ugly Sweater Party at Democratic Republic of Beer.

From 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., the taps will be unleashed and for $20, anyone can get bottomless craft beers. A prize will go to the person with the ugliest sweater.
Before you go, remember that DRB has moved. They’re no longer at 14th Street near the Arsht Center on Biscayne. They have located their consulate closer to downtown at 501 NE First Avenue.
It’s like an entire sovereign nation in the core of Miami and its currency is beer.

It’s also Friday the 13th, and almost Christmas, which means Krampus, the so-called “Xmas Devil”, will be creeping around tonight. Use that tacky sweater as a shield. Maybe grandma knew what she was doing after all.
