Now here’s a place where the worlds of booze-pounding college apes and hot moms converge: The Goose Lounge, a new bar that will feature a rotating microbrew and wine menu, opens tomorrow in Coconut Grove.
The beer menu will have 50+ microbrews from all over the world, as well as 12 beers on tap including Bell’s Oberon Ale and Stone Ruination IPA.
Some of the bottles on the beer menu will be Wells Banana Bread Ale, Belhaven Scottish Ale, Hazed and Infused, and some (semi)local favorites like Cigar City Guava Grove and Swamp Ape IPA.
The wine, which will be sold by the glass, is a rotating list of six red and six white wines imported from Argentina, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa.

Saturday’s grand opening party also features some music put on by Deep Roots with Jean P Jam, but The Goose will host live bands every Thursday and Friday, and even hosting aspiring musicians for open-mic Monday.
On the outside, The Goose blends into the backdrop of the Grove commercial sector. The inside: purple ceiling ducts and decorated olive green walls with murals that resemble Basquiat paintings (that’s a good thing), a long wooden bar, a makeshift stage and a pool table buried in the back corner.
Tapas like yuca fries, ceviche, pulled pork sliders and meat n’ cheese platters will be served to satisfy the urge to forage.
The Goose Lounge is was originally scheduled for opening on February 11, but was delayed due to permitting problems. Saturday’s opening will come just in time for the Coconut Grove Arts Festival this weekend.
