Downtown burger-and-tater tot standby The Filling Station & Garage Bar is adding a few more pumps. In doing so it’s also closing Reggae Tacos, a Jamaican spot that opened in late 2012 filling tortillas with curried goat and jerk chicken.
No one answered phone calls at the restaurant, and as of this writing owner Adam Feigeles couldn’t be reached for comment.

“To our loyal customers of Reggae Tacos; we want to thank you for all your support,” read a post on The Filling Station’s Facebook page. “We have decided to look for another location for Reggae Tacos and expand The Filling Station & Garage Bar. Stay tuned for new and exciting things happening very soon.”
It’s unclear whether the restaurant will stay open during the expansion.
The Filling Station has long been a Short Order favorite. It was named one of Miami’s top 10 neighborhood bars as well as one of the city’s top 10 chicken wings purveyors. It also won best wings in the Burger Beast’s 2010 “Burgie Awards.”
More recently the Filling Station has become the stage for a whirlwind of drama surrounding Critical Mass, the monthly celebration of self-propelled transportation, mostly bicycles. The 14- to 20-mile rides usually end at the downtown bar.
Yet lately the more than 2,000 cyclists seem to overwhelm Southeast Second Street. At the end of the April ride police arrested Aleric “AJ” Constantin, a Michael’s Genuine cook, for selling ice cream without a license. The crowd responded by booing and pelting the cops with trash.
