The Daily Creative Food Co., a Biscayne Boulevard mainstay for sandwiches and people-watching, will open a second location, on South Beach, sometime in the late fall or early winter.
Owner Adam Meltzer and partner Alan Benjamini, who run the day-to-day operations at the existing location, have leased three adjacent spots in a West Avenue shopping plaza between Ninth and Tenth streets, where they’ll offer the Daily’s massive menu on the island.

The seemingly endless list of soups, salads, and sandwiches includes a handful of items named for local media outlets. New Times is nowhere to be found, though there are tributes to New York’s Newsday and The Philadelphia Tribune stuffed between two pieces of bread.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
The café will have about 65 seats inside and 55 on the sidewalk. Delivery, the longtime savior of hungover downtown denizens, will also be available.
Meltzer, who ran a sit-down Mediterranean restaurant in New York City about a decade ago, said he’s been looking to expand the Daily for some time but hasn’t been able to because of the size and variety of the menu.
“If I was a smaller concept like a taco place or pizza or something, we’d be in five or six locations by now,” he said. “The fact that my menu is so large and we do most things from scratch actually creates a problem.”
