The craft beer industry in Miami appears to be far from tapping out. On April 6, Miami’s Planning Commission approved plans for Spanglish Ales, a 4,303-square-foot brewery located at 55 NW 25th St. in the Wynwood Arts District.
The South Florida Business Journal reports that longtime Miami resident Jurgen Wassmann partnered with Bogota Brewing Company‘s Berny Silberwasser to create Spanglish Ales, which will brew beer “reminiscent of American and Latino cultures made with locally sourced ingredients” on a 15-barrel system.
Last month, Miami’s Planning Commission recommended approval for the brewery, which was filed under its parent company, Miami Beer Ventures, LLC. Construction is underway. It’ll be located in the Donmore Villa Subdivision and will include a tasting room, a beer garden, and up to ten parking spaces.
In December, Spanglish Ales got some help with launching its beer at Massachusetts-based Night Shift Brewing. On tap was La Facil Grand Cru, a Belgian blonde/golden ale.

A brewmaster want ad posted to probrewer.com in August 2015 says Spanglish Ales is to open in the first half of 2016, although the Business Journal says the brewery will open by the end of the year.
New Times was unable to reach Wassmann, but we’ll update this post when we do. Calls made to Louis Terminello, the attorney representing Miami Beer Ventures, were not immediately returned.
