Sonic Beach, the burger, dog, and shake restaurant that re-creates a day at the Jersey Shore, is coming to Miami Gardens. The new location is scheduled to open late this summer.
Sonic Beach is part of the Sonic drive-in restaurant chain that offers sit-down areas, a man-made beach, and beer and wine in addition to the usual burgers, beer, shakes, and slushes. Of course, drive-in bays, servers on roller skates, and limeade are all available (and part of the nostalgic charm).

The Miami Gardens location is part of an expansion of the Sonic Beach brand, with a Lauderhill location scheduled to open this fall. Sonic Beach has two South Florida locations, in Homestead and Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Much like the Homestead location, the Miami Gardens Sonic Beach will serve hamburgers, Carolina pulled pork sandwiches, Coney Island hot dogs, and lots of beer. About three dozen brews will be available, starting at $1.50 for a PBR and going up to $4.50 for a Golden Monkey. Don’t like beer (gasp)? Sonic Beach also offers a wide variety of wines — and even bubbly for those of you with champagne wishes and chili dog dreams.
