On November 14th, 2008, the Lakes Sports Bar and Grill, located at 6125 Miami Lakes Drive, underwent a routine “Food Licensing Inspection” conducted by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. What they found was shit, from rats, and lots of it. The rat-shit code violation is one of 28 the restaurant received that day, as described here in this excerpt from the health inspector’s report:

The inspection temporarily closed the facility until the rat shit is cleaned up and the inspectors deem it a safe place to eat. Little more than 2 weeks later the establishment is now known as Lakes Cafe, ostensibly under new ownership, and is up and running. Two calls to the Lakes Cafe were met with “No comment.” Call for reservations 305 822-3077
