On November 14th, 2008, the Lakes Sports Bar and Grill, located at 6125 Miami Lakes Drive, underwent a routine “Food Licensing Inspection” conducted by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. What they found was shit, from rats, and lots of it. The rat-shit code violation is one of 28 the restaurant received that day, as described here in this excerpt from the health inspector’s report:

The inspection temporarily closed the facility until the rat shit is cleaned up and the inspectors deem it a safe place to eat. Little more than 2 weeks later the establishment is now known as Lakes Cafe, ostensibly under new ownership, and is up and running.
