Just when cows were breathing a sigh of relief over the pork craze created by Pubbelly comes bad news for bovines…but good news for us!
Pubbelly partners Andreas Schreiner, Sergio Navarro, and Jose Mendin have just announced the opening of PB Steak in the former Joe Allen space on Purdy Avenue in Miami Beach.

Pubbelly: My Favorite Restaurant
The fifth concept from Pubbelly Restaurant Team, PB Steak will focus on premium, locally sourced steak, fresh day boat fish, and a la carte sides. The restaurant, unlike traditional steak houses, will also feature a large selection of shareable dishes, a nod to what made the original Pubbelly restaurant so popular as a destination for great shareable food in a casual environment.
Chef Jose Mendin, who will head the menu development, also plans on offering an extensive raw bar filled with oysters, crustaceans, and other denizens of the sea.
Ashley
Danella has been tapped to head the PB Steak beverage program, using
fresh, local herbs, spices, housemade infusions, bitters, and tonics.
Danella, a fan of classic cocktails, will offer twists on favorite
libations, as well as some original creations. In addition, PB Steak
will offer a good selection of craft beers on draft. Pubbelly Managing
director Andreas Schreiner is curating a wine list of about 80
well-priced selections.
The 2,000 square foot, 90-seat dining
room will be decorated with a wood beam ceiling, low ambient lighting,
and reclaimed wood walls. Diners can eat at the 20-foot long stainless steel bar,
intimate leather banquettes, or the 16-seat communal table.
PB Steak is planning an early 2013 opening and will serve dinner seven days a week.
The group is also opening a South Miami outpost of Barceloneta, which is scheduled to open sometime in December, 2012.
