The rumors are true: Gold Standard Omakase is back serving its high-quality omakase, sophisticated sake offerings, and, as always, impeccable vibes.
Co-creators Bill Spector, Gil Elbaz, and Anthony Romano are taking Gold Standard Omakase to the private back room of Le Basilic Miami, a speakeasy-style hideaway in Sunset Harbour. The new residency is scheduled for 2025 and 2026, with seatings at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m., providing guests with more options to try the omakase.
“We’re happy to be in Sunset Harbor,” says Spector. “We think it’s a very great neighborhood. It’s Miami Beach, yet it’s in his own little enclave. We always like to carve out and find very interesting spaces, and this is one of them.”

The New Experience
The offerings remain its signature 16-course meal, created by sushi chef Ronnie J., formerly of Nobu, Makoto, and Wabi Sabi, and sushi chef Soren Mendonza, a veteran of the Gold Standard. Praised by returning guests for its quality, the sushi is prepared with fresh fish and seafood from Japan, as well as A5 Wagyu beef.
New to the Gold Standard experience are six surrounding tables where guests from the omakase counter can enjoy light bites, nigiri, and hand rolls alongside cocktails, music, and the late-night scene, encouraging reservations to arrive earlier or stay and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere after dinner.

An Exclusive Experience for Frequenters of Gold Standard
While the tables are exclusive to guests with reservations to dine in, Bill wants to do something special for the loyal regulars who will have access to the surrounding tables based on availability.
“Apart from our usual 12-seat omakase in the upcoming weeks, we will have a small à la carte menu for the surrounding tables,” says Spector. “If you’re part of our crew, people we know, and call maybe not wanting the full omakase but still want to see us, we want to have a seat waiting for you.”
Before arriving at Le Basilic, Gold Standard popped up at Soho Beach House, Ritz Carlton Bal Harbor, St. Regis Bal Harbor, Whitmans in Wynwood, and the coveted members-only Bath Club in Miami Beach.
