Dogfish, Shipward, Lefthand, Terrapin, and Stone are five of the seven microbrews being poured tonight at Angelo & Maxie’s Steakhouse. It’s the latest in this restaurant’s series of Thursday night beer tastings, which run from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. For twenty dollars, patrons can quaff the aforementioned quintet of suds as well as the other dozen or so micro brews on tap, such as Native Brewings 11 Brown Ale, and Highlands — a new brew that tonight will be tasted by South Floridians for the first time. The wide spectrum of samplings offered is in keeping with this week’s theme: Early Spring Cleaning, hosted by Chris Montelius of Fresh Beer Inc. (a Fort Lauderdale distributor of craft beers and ales).

Not sold yet? They’re throwing in free buffalo wings. And a discount coupon for your next meal here. You may not know much about this Coconut Grove establishment, as it is regrettably tucked away on the mezzanine level of the Mayfair Hotel. Yet Angelo and Maxies Steakhouse has been resoundingly successful in its Park Avenue South location in New York City — mainly due to its great steaks. Beer enthusiasts, and those who really like chicken wings, can’t ask for a nicer setting or a better deal.
