Through Sunday, June 27, Anthony Inn – chef/partner of New York City’s renowned Satsuki and Suzuki restaurants – will man the omakase counter at Hiyakawa alongside Masayuki Komatsu. They’ll serve 12 diners per night. In addition to omakase, Inn will offer a handful of exclusive items on Hiyakawa’s Á la carte menu. Adrianne Calvo, best known for her South Florida restaurants Chef Adrianne’s and Redfish, has a new one: Forte by Chef Adrianne. Located on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables, the Italian-inspired restaurant pays homage to Calvo’s mother (whose maiden name is “Forte”) and her family’s Sicilian lineage. Menu items range from fresh seafood and a buratta bar to house-made pizzas and pastas. Rivertail in Fort Lauderdale has launched weekend brunch service.

The riverside eatery by award-winning chef José Mendín is now open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Menu highlights include crab doughnuts with spicy honey ($12), king crab Benedict with brioche toast and yuzu hollandaise ($28), pork belly and eggs ($23), and cornbread with cotija cheese and honey butter. Carrot Express has a lineup of new menu items, which are available at all 12 locations across South Florida. Highlights include the Middle Eastern platter, served with quinoa tabbouleh drizzled with champagne vinaigrette, falafel, hummus, roasted baba ghannouj, and toasted multigrain bread from Zak the Baker ($14.95); a salmon “Buddha Bowl” made with pan-seared salmon on a blend of quinoa, cabbage, scallions, edamame, corn, and roasted eggplant with “Buddha” sauce ($18.95); and the chicken goddess sandwich, stuffed with pan-seared, panko-crusted chicken breast and cilantro-lime coleslaw ($14.95).
