Save a few unexpected obstacles, Miami threw a great weekend, right? Friday night guests got their fried chicken and champagne on at Cluck and had a blast at Miami’s first poultry-centered event. Kudos to Chef Adrianne Calvo for her people’s choice victory.

And then the Escape to Miami triathlon made its way through Downtown’s streets.

How great is it that you can do these completely different things in the same 5 mile radius of the same city in the same 3 day span? Pretty great. And the week ahead looks equally exciting.

Drinks with the Maker at Khong – Monday

Support local news on #GivingNewsDay

Today is #GivingTuesday. We in the news business like to think of it as #GivingNewsDay. We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to this community. If you value our work, we hope you’ll consider making a contribution to our newsroom today.

$30,000

The best way to start off the week is obviously with a glass of wine. No worries, we don’t mean as soon as you wake up (although we won’t judge you if that’s your kind of thing). After you’ve had your coffee, after you’ve had your lunch, and drudged through the day at work, head over to Khong River House on Lincoln Road for a $5 glass of wine. From 5 to 7 p.m. choose from the AA Badenhorst family’s Secateurs line: Chenin Blanc 2012, Rose 2013 and Red Blend 2011. Owner and winemaker Adi Badenhorst will be mixing and mingling around while you enjoy his South African creations.

Power Lunch at Milo’s – Monday through Friday

It’s no secret that getting lunch in an hour’s time is next to impossible — especially in a city where it takes 20 minutes to drive 2 miles only because of traffic and lights. But should you find yourself around the SoFi area during lunch one day, consider stopping at Milo’s for a quick lunch? Quick lunch, you say? Yep. They’re offering a 60-minute power lunch during the week for every who needs to get in and get out in an hour’s time. If your lunch takes over 60 minutes from start to finish, the meal’s on them. You can view the options for the $24 three-course lunch here.

Craft Beer Happy Hour at Macchialina with Gravity – Thursday

Related

Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., Macchialina will be teaming up with Miami’s own Gravity Brewlab for a craft beer happy hour. Guests can order owner Michael Pirolo’s porchetta sandwich with toppings like crispy potatoes, broccolini, or pepperoneta for $8. And to wash it down, Gravity will offer Salzonetta, a traditional Belgian farmhouse ale brewed with uncooked semolina from Macchialina. You’ll be able to chat up with brewmaster Diego Ganoza as he’ll be milling around with guests as well.

Thirsty Thursday Happy Hour at Jaguar – Thursday

From now on, you can get your happy hour fix in from 6 to 9 p.m. in Coconut Grove at Jaguar. For $25, choose three wine, beer, or cocktail selections and complimentary bar bites including skirt steak skewers with dry aji amarillo BBQ sauce, lemon chicken skewers with spicy peanut sauce, and mahi-mahi skewers with aji panca sauce and cilantro pesto. There will be a selection of South American wines, as well as passion fruit caipirinhas, mango mojitos and pisco punch.
