The Miami International Wine Fair is coming to the Miami Beach Convention Center September 23 through 25. This event showcases 1,800 wines from 20 countries in more than 80,000 square feet of exhibit space. You won’t likely find celebrity chefs, but you will be able to sample generous pours of some truly interesting wines — and talk to distributors, vintners, and winemakers.
Though the Miami International Wine Fair is entering its tenth year, chances are
you haven’t experienced it simply because the event is open only to the trade. To enter the Grand Tasting Village you normally must be a
wine importer, broker, restaurateur, catering company, wine buyer, or a
guest of one.
This year, however, the fair is allowing the public
to participate in a full-day seminar of programs, which also includes
entry into the Grand Tasting Village. Tickets to the Saturday-night
afterparty at the Miami Beach Convention Center ($50) are also
available. The full-day
programs are surprisingly affordable. If you’re serious about wine or
just an amateur wino, this is a weekend you won’t want to miss.
